The members of the Namakkal District Powerloom Weavers Union affiliated to the CITU staged a demonstration at the Anangur road junction here on Sunday to press their charter of demands. They demanded that the government set up common effluent treatment plant on a war-footing in Pallipalayam area to protect power loom industry and prevent the mixing of effluents in River Cauvery.
