The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed the West Bengal government to draw cash beyond the stipulated limit to pay wages to about four lakh workers in the 278 large tea gardens of Bengal. The tea garden owners will have to first transfer the amount to be paid as wages to the bank account of the district administration, a notice issued by the State's Finance Department has said.
