Forum Against FTAs Protest Against EU - India FTA, April 30, 2010, New Delhi

Forum on FTAs Urge the Government to review India-ASEAN FTA
‘Forum on FTAs', which campaigns against the impact of free trade agreements on labour and livelihoods, asked the government to bring in greater transparency and wider consultation which have been missing in the FTA negotiation process in India. On August 14, 2009 the forum issued a press release urging the government of India to halt the implementation process of the FTA and order a review on it. Prior to this Labour organisations, farmers, civil society organisations and experts had issued a press statement criticising the government for not making the agreement text public.
