The study identifies the key players in the world agricultural market and examines India’s position in relation to them. It also analyses the main ‘pillars’ of the AoA and attempts to examine the extent to which these are inherently biased against developing countries such as India. The study also demonstrate through case studies, the extent to which increased liberalization and connectivity with the world markets has led to the deterioration in the condition of small landholders and agricultural labourers. The paper also addresses the issue of food security in this regard. In garment industry, the study concentrates on the sub contractors and garment workers as they constitute the weaker groups in this industry and hence are more likely to be affected adversely by negative trade agreements.
