Governance Structure
A Governing Board (GB) is elected from a General Body of members by the General Body for a term of 3 years. The General Body meets at least once every year. The Governing Board which meets not less than three times a year, guides the organisational strategy, monitors the executive performance and evaluates activities against goals and objectives. None of the Governing Board members are employees of the organisation. The Executive Director of CEC is appointed by the Governing Board for a specified period.
The GB consists of the Secretary, the President, the Treasurer, 4 members and the Executive Director, who is an ex-officio member.
The Executive Director, appointed by the Governing Board, is authorised to take everyday executive decisions within the parameters of the policies of the organisation. Policies are drafted by the Governing Board and approved by the General Body.
The organisation has a written constitution, the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulation. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act (1860) of India.
