“Hospital Waste Handlers Labour Rights: A Study in and around Select Delhi Hospitals” looks at the issue of medical waste management (recycling and disposal) from the ground reality of and from the perspective of three categories of hospital waste handlers: karmacharis (unskilled support staff in hospitals), municipal workers in the MCD bins and ragpickers, the main agents of waste disposal and recycling in Delhi. In this regard, it is an exploratory examination of the status of Hospital waste handlers in and around five hospitals in Delhi.
