This book discusses the potential impact of the post-MFA tendencies on Indian garment industry. It is a study report on the structure of garment industry in India. The study tries to capture the complexities of the Indian garment sector in a global commodity chain by establishing the relationship among the workers – sub contractors – manufacturers – exporters – buyers – retailers. It also looks at how the pressures of globalization encourage contractualisation, informalisation and intensification of work in the garment sector.
