Report of the Study Group (II) on Umbrella Legislation for Workers in the Unorganised Sector

The National Commission on Labour, 2000 constituted the Study Group (II) on Umbrella Legislation for workers in the Unorganised Sector in which CEC became a consultant. As a consultant CEC was assigned to prepare a draft on the basis of issues formulated and views expressed by the members, backing them up with relevant information and data. The first part of the report is a discussion on the framework of a possible ‘Umbrella Lagislation for workers in the Unorganised Sector’. In Part II, the study has attempted an Indicative Bill, ‘Protection of Rights of Workers in the Unorganised Sector Bill, 2001’incorporating the key elements form Part I.
