Along with the common people, worst hit are the tea garden workers of 104 tea estates of Barak Valley due to the surgical strike on black money by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The banks in all the three districts of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi are reeling under cash crunch and finding it difficult to handle the overflowing number of customers every day. ATMs continue to run dry. Even under this trying situation, the managements of banks are keeping their mind cool and exercising maximum coordination with the customers in queues.
