Manufacturing and small businesses in Gujarat have been severely hit as large numbers of labourers are being forced to spend time at banks to withdraw money for their day-to-day expenses. Heavily labour-intensive industries like textiles, diamond, chemicals, dyestuff, construction, ceramics and others are reeling under the huge loss of man days in wake of the Centre making Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes invalid.
