Horizon With Labour
The demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes has taken a heavy toll on daily wage earners in the twin cities. With no one coming forward to hire them due to the acute cash crunch in the last five days, many daily workers have turned to begging to stave off hunger. A majority of the daily workers are migrant labour from the backward Mahbubnagar district, which is known for its perennial drought and large-scale migration of people in search of livelihood.
