Around 50 contract sanitation workers under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor association staged a protest on Tuesday outside the Noida Authority offices. They demanded a hike in salary hike besides other benefits. The administration deployed police to ensure that law and order was maintained at the protest site. In December 2016 too sanitation workers had stopped cleaning the city and collecting waste creating problems for residents and officials. They had ended protests following promises by officials.
