‘Training of Trainers’ Program

CEC is a non-profit, labour resource centre, founded in 1983, with the mission of building a wider horizon with labour and small producers and upholding their rights to enhance their dignity and power. Over the past three decades, CEC has worked in the tea, brick kiln, garment, leather, stone and fisheries industries, to address issues of occupational safety and health, child labour, migration, decent work, and women’s rights in the world of work.

CEC’s program- “Building Sustainable Rural Women Entrepreneurs in Handloom Value Chain” is being implemented in Assamwith the objective to empower an estimated 1000 Rural women entrepreneurs (RWEs) in Handloom Value Chain, by developing self-reliance and capacity to manage & run sustainable handloom business through tailored yet comprehensive support initiatives.

Towards this, CEC is introducing a 19- days ‘Training of Trainers’ program, to be conducted in three stages, split over the span of three years.  This program offers an opportunity for trainers to enhance their capacities and gain innovative adult training skills, suitable to the context of rural women engaging in nano/ micro entrepreneurial activities, more so in the Handloom value chain. Additionally, learnings offered to trainers through the curriculum are easily adaptable to strengthen the capacities of women entrepreneurs in other value chains.

The modules include a range of topics in the areas of Financial Literacy, Business Literacy, Strengthening Collectives and Rural Women’s Leadership, and Building Resilience against Socio-Cultural Barriers. This curriculum will be introduced through a three-stage residential program of 6-days each, i.e., i) Foundational level program, ii) Secondary level program & iii) Advance level program, followed by a 1-day Conclusive Programme, spread across next 3-years.

We are now inviting applications from interested candidates who want to develop their skills and knowledge on building micro-enterprises in handloom value chain. Institutions running programs on Gender based livelihood/ Entrepreneurship are also encouraged to nominate suitable candidates from their organisations for participation in this ‘ToT’ Program.
