The employer should also provide definite source of clean potable drinking water. Since, the workmen are engaged full time, it is necessary to plan for a permanent residential base at or near the work site. It should be the obligation of a welfare state to provide for all these facilities and amenities in tune with the directions of Apex court. Since stone quarries are concentrated in particular areas, placing a local officer will help in improving the lot of the workmen.
