Tea garden mgmt to take back 17 retired permanent workers

The tea garden management which has been in the eye of a storm ever since it retired 17 permanent workers above 73 years old a few days ago, has relented in the face of protests by staff and others. The management has agreed to take back all of them. However, they have been absorbed as causal workers for a period of two months. A decision was taken by the management on Saturday night. Now, around 120 permanent workers and 35 temporary workers have been left to serve.
