The auto drivers in Kharghar, Kamothe and Kalamboli called an indefinite strike on Monday from 10am, inconveniencing commuters. Registered auto drivers protested against illegal autos plying in the city, which they claim is affecting the source of their livelihood. Navi Mumbai Rickshaw Mahasangha president, Kasam Mulani said, "Not a single auto was seen plying on the streets. Only after DCP (traffic) Arvind Salve offered assurance in writing that action would be taken against illegal auto drivers, did we call off the strike at 3pm."
