The enforcement wing of the Labour Department is set to embark on an intensive drive beginning next week to ensure strict compliance of safety norms for workers in the construction sector. Though officials are conducting routine weekly inspections, the proposed focused drive comes in the wake of instances where labourers have been found working in dangerous circumstances without any safety gear on high rise construction sites.
