Odisha government hikes DA by 6 per cent

The state government on Saturday hiked the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees and pensioners by 6 per cent. With the recent revision, the total DA would be 125 per cent. Announcing it here, finance minister Pradip Amat said the hiked DA would be implemented with retrospective effect from January, 2016. Total four lakh employees and three lakh pensioners would benefit due to the revision. "There would be an additional financial burden of Rs 789.72 crore on the state exchequer due to the hike," Amat said.
