Horizon With Labour
Centre for Education and Communication (CEC) undertook this research study with a focus on the state of Uttar Pradesh to understand the dynamics of the labour market and Industrial relations in the brick kilns, considering the fact that the industry brings together thousands of kilns and millions of workers year after year. In doing so, the study has tried to systematically analyse and understand the component of labour market dynamics, both at the source and destination states of workers, while locating the brick industry in terms of the extent of demand for workers, sourcing of workers and their deployment.
