Members of Port Democratic Staff Union staged a demonstration seeking regularisation of workers in a container terminal here on Monday. M. Gnanadurai, vice-president of the union, presided over the programme organised in front of Tuticorin Old Port on beach road. R. Russell, general secretary of the union, said that 78 lashing and unlashing workers and 44 prime mover drivers had been working for 17 years at PSA SICAL, the container terminal here, since its inception, but their service had not been regularised.
