KVIC hikes wages for spinners to Rs 5.50 per hank

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) today said it has hiked the wages for spinners from Rs 4 per hank to Rs 5.50 per hank. In textile sector, a hank refers to a unit of yarn or twine that is in a coiled form. "KVIC has hiked wages for spinners from Rs 4 per hank to 5.50 per hank, a rise of 37.5 per cent. The rates had been stagnant from April 1, 2014," KVIC Chairman VK Saxena said in a statement.
