TRINAMOOL MP and lawyer Idris Ali on Tuesday filed a public interest litigation (PIL) at the Calcutta High Court on behalf of All India Minority Forum against the bandh called by central trade unions on September 2. "The bandh called by 11 central trade unions, including CITU, will only end up harassing people and create disturbance," he told the court. He cited the statements of Left Front chairman Biman Bose and CPM state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra, where they had said that any attempt to foil the strike would be met with a fight if necessary.
