Position Title: Programme Officer – MIS & Reporting Coordination
 

Reporting to: Project Manager and Executive Director, Centre for Education and Communication (CEC)
 

Location: CEC Office, Delhi


Contract Duration: Initial contract of one year, with the potential for annual renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.

Salary: Remuneration will be based on qualifications and years of experience, with an expected range of ?35,000 to ?40,000 per month.

Background Note

The Centre for Education and Communication (CEC) is a pioneering labour resource organisation dedicated to empowering workers, small producers, and communities within the informal sector. For over two decades, CEC has actively worked on capacity building, access to rights, and sustainable livelihoods, enhancing the social and economic well-being of workers across various industries, including handloom, tea, and brick kilns.

CEC is currently implementing the Equilitea project, funded by Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI), since August 2022. This five-year project supports Small Tea Growers (STGs) in Assam by establishing and strengthening Tea Producer Companies (TPCs). The project is expected to benefit approximately 1,200 households directly and 6,000 individuals indirectly, promoting a producer-friendly tea value chain focused on ethical, traceable, and eco-friendly tea production.

Job Responsibilities

The Programme Officer – MIS & Reporting Coordination will be responsible for managing the project’s MIS, preparing reports, supporting coordination activities, and contributing to project visibility and outreach.

  1. MIS and Reporting
    • Maintain and update project MIS systems and the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework to track project activities regularly.
    • Prepare project documentation and reporting with consistency and accuracy, tailored to partner organisation requirements.

 

  1. Data Analysis and Insights
    • Build strong relationships with the field team and community to ensure accurate data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
    • Share key updates and insights with the team to address challenges and enhance project outcomes.

 

  1. Project Communication and Coordination
    • Prepare project communication materials for internal and external audiences based on MEL insights.
    • Support coordination activities by liaising with field teams, stakeholders, and third-party consultants as needed.

 

  1. Training and Capacity Building
    • Conduct capacity-building sessions for project staff on software usage, data collection, and technical requirements for MIS.
    • Coordinate with third-party consultants on contract development, digital infrastructure, and other essential project aspects.
  2. Project Management Support
    • Assist the Project Manager with planning and executing project activities, such as training sessions and workshops.
    • Oversee project operations in the Project Manager’s absence and manage timelines, milestones, and schedules using appropriate tools.

Required Qualities, Competencies, and Qualifications

  1. Minimum of one year of experience in MIS/MEL in a reputable organisation.
  2. Master’s degree in Social Work, Management, Social Sciences, or Economics.
  3. Familiarity with MIS and MEL systems, statistical tools, data analysis software, and website maintenance.
  4. Knowledge of livelihood issues, organic/sustainable farming, especially in the tea sector, is preferred.
  5. Proficiency in English and Hindi is required; knowledge of Assamese is an advantage.
  6. Willingness to be based in Delhi with occasional travel to Assam and other project locations.
